John did a number of small jobs at our house, which he took great care with and did to a high standard. He was accurate with both his start date and quote, and was friendly and professional throughout. John created us a new wheelchair ramp for a residential property and the work is to the highest standard. He worked with me, listening to the requirement and advising on materials and the process. During the build he considered our needs to access the property, and there was absolutely no mess left behind. The job was done quickly and efficiently, and as a bonus he's a really nice guy.

Meticulous and Trustworthy Carpenter & Joiner

John undertook a range of carpentry and joinery work for us including constructing 3 alcove cupboards and a series of floating shelves. He also sourced and fitted skirting boards to match the style of our living-room.

He talked us through the pros and cons of different options with each piece of work, always clarified to make sure there were no misunderstandings about what we wanted and was also careful when it came to managing any dust. We received a clear and detailed quote for the work at the outset, he kept in close contact about dates to undertake the work and completed the work in the time specified despite some of the quirks of our 1870s house! Excellent service and highly recommend

Really happy with the works done by John, a real skilled craftsman. He was very patient from start to finish. Made some great suggestions to help us with our ideas and budget at quote stage. Friendly and competitively priced, we ended up getting John to build the bespoke wardrobe to two of our bedrooms working around difficult chimney-breast and sloping ceilings. We liked it so much we got John to build the storage cabinets to our dining and living space.

Excellent joiner

John responds to all queries promptly and with excellent detail and is very competitively and fairly priced. He fitted multiple new doors and door furniture as well as completing a complete renovation of our staircase. The quality of his workmanship is excellent as is his communication during the work. From Jon quoting when was most convenient to us, the detailed advice given, the clear quote of what it would cost, the inconvenience of working around another tradesperson, the quality of the work completed, the extra jobs completed whilst on the job and the friendly/professional attitude through the whole job… I really couldn’t imagine how the experience could of been better.

Skirting, squaring off an archway, new door fitted, other doors tidied up, architraving all carried out to a lovely finish.

Will definitely be using Jon again for all joinery work! Would highly recommend.

Fitted cupboards and shelves (0817)

John was extremely helpful and professional from the first day he came out to provide us with an estimate. He was also happy to answer queries leading up to the job and was prompt in his response.

During the job John was courteous and friendly. He did his best to contain mess from the work and he communicated with us regularly and allowed us to have choice where possible. He also completed the job at the earlier end of the scale of his estimate.

The price was very reasonable given the bespoke product John has created for us. The finished cupboards and shelves are excellent.

We would definitely recommend John for quality, reliability and value.

John was great from start to finish, he really took his time to understand what we wanted down to the smallest detail meaning the fitted wardrobes we have ended up with are perfect and just how I imagined. JS Carpentry & Joinery To The Rescue!

Had damage showing in our lounge ceiling from a leak in a water pipe under our landing upstairs. Emergency plumber sent by our home insurance wasn’t allowed to cut through the upstairs floor to get access to repair the leak. Had to find our own joiner to get access, went to yell.com to find a joiner/carpenter fairly close. Liked info and reviews on JS Carpentry, plus it was 1:00 pm on a Saturday, and they were only open till 2:00pm. This is where the exceptional service, compassion and caring about people comes in. John told me he was on a job and already booked solid next week, but when I explained our situation, water off, living out of buckets and just needing a hole cut in the floor for access, he said he could stop by and have a look, no promises! Well, John cut an access, plumber back Sunday, water on! Totally impressed with Johns professionalism, knowledge and ability. Look forward to him coming back doing the finishing touches for us.

Fantastic Alcove Cupboard

We have used John many times to build fitted furniture in our house and the current project was not a disappointment. John built us a floor to ceiling alcove cupboard in our dining room and it looks fantastic. John was very flexible and happy to accommodate us as we made a lot of alterations to the original plan. Great carpenter

Fitted wardrobe and set of shelves in our son's bedroom. Look great - super attention to detail. John also constructed a cabinet and shelves in our dining room which looks great and fits with the style of the house.

Kitchen Worktops - Great job again

After using John for some alcove cupboards in our lounge earlier in the year, he has been back to do some work in our kitchen - fitting new worktops.

As per the previous project, the standard of Johns work was excellent and the price was very reasonable. He also cleaned up well and kept everything neat and tidy , plus he conducted his work around a large German Shepherd who kept getting in the way!

Amazing work!

John worked on creating a new access to our loft and boarding it to be optimal for storage. He did an amazing job. From making a brand new access (making perfect surgical cuts) to installing a good safe quality ladder to clearing and boarding all the available loft area, creating that extra massively needed space.

He came on the agreed date and completed the work on time, earlier even! Great work and would highly recommend! Looking forward to working with him again.

We asked John to make us some fitted wardrobes; Thrilled with the results. They look great and were very reasonably priced; he took our budget into account when offering different materials/designs etc.

Household Carpentry

Unbelievable brilliant shelving job

John is someone who takes enormous pride in his work. He fitted some difficult shelving for myself and my girlfriend. He even went to the trouble of covering the screw holes with handmade dowels. I showed the shelving company the pictures and they were so impressed that they are displaying the picture on their website.

A totally excellent job. I cannot recommend him highly enough. He is very particular, skilled and precise - exactly what you want from a carpenter.

Not many workmen give that level of care - brilliant workmanship.
